In Path of Exile 2 Storm Charge turns a decent amulet into a real build maker if you line up Refined Fear Horror and Envy in the right order and honestly it feels amazing when the craft finally lands.

If you have already sunk a bunch of hours into the sequel, you have probably noticed how crazy deep the item and PoE 2 Currency systems go. It is not just “find a big sword” any more; every slot on your character can be tuned and abused for more power. One of the stand-out mechanics right now is the Arcane system. It lets you bolt passive bonuses onto amulets without dealing with chaos orbs, benches or all the usual crafting nerves. The standout pick for most end-game builds is a passive called Storm Charge, because it gives you the effect of the skill for free, so you do not have to burn points on the tree to get it.

Understanding Refined Emotions

To get Storm Charge on an amulet, you need a new crafting mat called Refine Emotion. At first it sounds like flavour text, but it is an actual system you will use a lot. You are chasing three specific pieces: Distilled Fear, Distilled Terror and Distilled Envy. The catch is that you cannot just slam them in any old way and hope for the best. The order matters more than people think. If you throw them in randomly, you are very likely to end up with a different Arcane passive or just waste the whole setup, which feels awful when the drops are this rare.

How To Get Distilled Emotions

There are two main routes players lean on. First, the grindy one: Ultimate Delirium maps. These maps ramp up fast; the longer you stay in the fog, the harder everything hits, but that is also when the good loot starts dropping. If you go this way, you really want to juice your map with scarabs, sextants or whatever modifiers you can stack to push reward bars and mob density. The emotions drop from Delirium mobs, but they are not common, so you will have runs where nothing useful shows up and it feels like the game is trolling you. The upside is that when it works, you walk out with multiple emotions plus a pile of other loot.

Using Alva As A Shortcut

If you do not fancy sweating through fog maps all night, a lot of players just head to Alva in their Hideout. She now has a trade-style interface where you swap excess resources for Distilled Emotions. It behaves a bit like a tiny in-game market: prices move around based on what people are feeding into it, so some days Distilled Envy is cheap, other days it is the one that hurts. This route is great if you are sitting on spare currency or league mats and you just want to finish your amulet instead of rolling the dice in more maps. You lose a bit of raw profit, but you gain time and reliability, which is usually worth it when you are pushing end-game.

Putting Storm Charge On Your Amulet

Once you have the three emotions sorted, the actual craft is pretty simple but easy to mess up if you rush. Right-click any Distilled Emotion to open the Infuse window, then drop your chosen amulet into the top slot. In the bottom row, place them from left to right in this exact order: Distilled Fear in the first slot, Distilled Terror in the second and Distilled Envy in the third. Watch the text box: if it shows “Storm Charge”, you are good; if it is blank or says something else, do not click Infuse. Recheck the order, swap items if needed, then try again. When the wording looks right, hit Infuse and the Arcane passive is locked on that amulet for good, so only use it on a piece you plan to keep for a while. If the drops and Alva are not being kind, plenty of players just pick up the emotions from trade hubs or sites where you can safely buy PoE 2 Currency and skip the worst of the RNG.
